I looked over my paper one last time before sighing and slamming my pencil down on the table. "Done." Even though it took nearly an hour of reading and essay writing, I was finally done with my homework. 'What now...' I thouhgt. My parents weren't going to be picking me up from the library anytime soon, and my little brothers didn't need to be watched over.
"OH COME ON!"
Startled, I looked over to where the voice was coming from. It was coming from a room. The door had a sign that read:
Teen Area. Grades 6-12
From the muffled sounds of smart bombs going off and someone saying, "FALCON PUNCH!" I guessed they were playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl. "I haven't played in a while. Might as well." I grabbed my sweat shirt and pulled on my ski cap before walking over and opening the door. A few people were gathered around a screen where SSBB was being projected onto.
A boy with white hair and a girl with brown hair were standing up holding game cube controllers and staring intently at the screen while Sheik and Captain Falcon duked it out. On the couch there was a boy with brown hair and another guy with blonde hair sitting on the couch. I assumed they'd gotten KOed already because though they were both holding wii remotes, the guy with wavy blonde hair was biting down on the end of a hankerchief. Apparently he didn't take losing all to well.
The match ended when Sheik teleported next to Captain Falcon and booted him off the stage.
The albino groaned while the brown haired girl cheered.
"Looks like I won again Gilbert." she said, smiling smugly.
"Whatever," said "Gilbert".
"Ok," said the supervisor. "The match's over. Switch controllers and start a new one."
Eventually the new people playing were a boy with blonde hair and a cowlick, another guy who looked almost exactly like him accept he had a curly strand of hair, a boy with short black hair and brown eyes, and a guy with green eyes, blonde hair, and glasses.
'I'll just wait till the next round to play.' I thought. I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned around to see the brown haired girl from before. "Hm?"
"Are you new?" she asked. "I've never seen you around here before."
"Yeah, I don't usually go to the library because I do my homework at home. My little brother needs a book for his book report, so we're here to until he finds one his reading level and until my mom and dad come to pick us up. I just came because it looks kind of new."
She laughed. "This place's been around for a couple of months now."
"Oh...hehehe..." I rubbed the back of my head.
"It's fine, it happens to everyone." she said with a smile.
"Um, could you tell me who you guys are? I don't go to school in town so..."
"Oh, sure! Well, first off I'm Elizaveta. The the blonde boys with glasses are Alfred and Matthew, the boy with black hair is Kiku, and the last guy playing is Eduard. The guys I beat in the last match were Gilbert, Antonio and Francis. Gilbert's the one with white hair, Antonio's the burnette, and Francis was the one biting on his hankerchief."
I laughed, then I noticed that the match had just finished with Eduard winning against Alfred. 'That was fast.' "I'll talk to you later!" I said while going for a controller. I was about to chose a character when another guy took it from me. "Hey! Give that-!" I stopped when I saw him. He wasn't one of the guys Elizaveta had told me about. He was REALLY tall and seemed to give off some sort of intimidating aura that made me back off. I tried to get another controller or get people to see that I wanted a turn to play, but it seemed like either nobody could hear me or they chose to ignore me. I sighed and sat down on the couch.
"Hey dude, what's wrong?"
I looked up to see Alfred. "Oh...well, I've kind of been waiting to play but this tall guy took my controller." I pointed to him. "And I've been trying to get another one but everyone seems to be ingoreing me."
He seemed to understand my predicament, because he stood up and said, "Hey guys!"
Most of the people looked at him.
"What about him?" he said pointing to me...wait, WHAT?!
"I-I'M A GIRL!" I said indignantly, jumping up from my spot on the couch.
"Wait you are?"
I groaned in annoyance before pulling off my hat and pulled my ponytail out of my hoodie. "See. Long hair. LONG hair."
"I actually know a guy with hair that long."
"It is kind of hard to tell that you're a girl though."
I looked at the speaker. It was Gilbert. "What?"
"Yeah," he said. "You're kind of flat chested."
I felt my face go red with embaressment. Having enough of this, I grabbed my hat and stormed out of the room. I heard someone with a german accent say "Nice going Gilbert." before I slammed the door. I sighed, closing my eyes and pressing my hand to my forehead. "Gosh, kill me now."
"What the heck was that?"
I looked to see my little brother. I sighed again. "Nothing. Absolutely nothing."
"It didn't sound that way. What was all that yelling ab-"
"Just drop it..."
